    EMPW(Electro Magnetic Pulse Welding Machine)

    Definition

It is one of the solid-state welding methods in which dissimilar materials collide at high speed and weld using electromagnetic pulses.
This technology is applicable not only to the welding field, but also to various fields such as crimping, forming, cutting, and perforating.

    Principle

The current flowing along the coil creates an induced current in the outer tube, and the two current flows create a magnetic field in opposite directions.
Welding proceeds by the repulsive force generated between the coil and the outer tube.

    Advantages

    • Dissimilar material bonding
    • Excellent welding quality
    • No filler required
    • High productivity
    • High work repeatability
    • Eco-friendly process

    Test result

    • The wavy-interface, an interfacial characteristic that appears in explosion welding, is also found in the welding interface using MPW technology.

    • Leakage Test

When maintained for 10 minutes under a water pressure of 100kgf/cm2,
there is no leakage in the welding area. When the water pressure was
continuously increased, it ruptured at the AL base material, not the weld,
      at 180kgf/cm2 pressure.
    • Tensile Test

The test was conducted under the condition of
Cross Head Speed 1mm/min, and at the maximum load of 789N,
it broke at the AL base material, not the weld.
